UN COP27 Delegation Partners and Judging Committee

Nomea is an official partner of the Israeli climate tech delegation to the United Nations COP27 organised by PLANETech and the Israeli Innovation Authority, which will take place in November 2022, in Sharm El-Sheik, Egypt. Additionally, Nadav Steinmetz has been asked to be on the judging committee, where he assisted in the selection process of 10 promising and innovative startups that will represent Israel at the global convention.

The selected climate tech startups will have the honor to participate on the global stage, showcasing Israel’s impressive technological advances and climate impact in a variety of domains and sectors.

The winning startups were announced on September 21st on the main stage at the PLANETech conference in Israel. After careful deliberation by the judging committee, consisting of six climate tech investors and industry experts, the following 10 leading Israeli startups have been selected to represent Israel in the Delegation to COP27. Congratulations to Aleph Farms, Beewise, GenCell Energy, Groundwork BioAg, HomeBiogas, H2Pro, Remilk, Tomorrow.io, UBQ Materials and Williot.

The COP is the supreme decision-making forum of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), bringing signatory governments together once a year to discuss and agree how to jointly address climate change and its impacts.The ‘parties’ of the COP are the governments which have signed the UNFCCC, the Kyoto Protocol or the Paris Agreement. World leaders, ministers, negotiators, civil society, businesses, international organizations and the media all attend.

COP 27 will take place in Sharm El-Sheik between November 6th – 18th, 2022. We look forward to seeing you there.
