Undercutting its fossil fuel counterparts in cost per kWh, wind and solar power are now the cheapest forms of energy. The amount of wind that blows across our planet has the capacity to fulfill the world’s electricity demand many times over! However, wind power produced only 7% of global electricity last year. This technology must be adopted at scale in order to phase out fossil fuels and reach net zero by 2050.
While there has been a great deal of development and progress in the space, continuous innovation is essential in expanding and improving offshore wind technologies.
